Betty Weems was born on April 10, 1943, and peacefully entered eternal rest on December 30, 2025. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Nathaniel Davis and Allie Mae Ellis Davis, as well as her brother Donald Davis and her sister Sherrill Fenix. Betty lived a life marked by dedication, perseverance, and deep love for her family. She was known for her strong work ethic, her independent spirit, and her commitment to providing for herself and those she loved.
Betty accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Second Baptist Church in Bryan, Texas. She was a faithful member of Beth Eden Baptist Church, where she served faithfully on the Usher Board and as a Deaconess. She was also a proud and active member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her faith guided her life and was a source of strength, comfort, and hope to all who knew her.
Betty attended Kemp High School and continued her education at Prairie View A&M University, where she further developed her love for learning and personal growth.
She was blessed with and is lovingly survived by her devoted husband of 14 years, Willie Weems, who stood faithfully by her side with love and care. She was a devoted mother to her children: Pam Washington, Ricky Curry, Kirk Curry (Janet), Christopher Roberts (Tonya), and Willie Weems. Betty is also survived by her loving siblings: Gaynell Kerr, Maryann Monroe, and Lawrence Ellis. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Betty was a dedicated and hardworking woman throughout her life. She retired in 2025 from Baylor Scott & White, where she faithfully served for more than 15 years. Prior to that, she worked at the Veterans Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. In addition, she embraced entrepreneurship as an Independent Associate with LegalShield, Amway, and Vitamin companies.
Betty’s life was a testament to resilience, faith, and love. She touched many lives through her kindness, her strength, and her willingness to serve others. Her legacy lives on through her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and the many friends whose lives she enriched.
She will be remembered always for her warm heart, her determined spirit, and the love she freely gave. Though she is no longer with us in body, her memory remains forever in our hearts.
