On July 10, 2024, Johnny R. Duffey peacefully transitioned after struggling with Multiple complications.
Johnny was born in Hopkins County, the son of Virginia Lindley and Raymond E. Duffey, who preceded him in death alone with Venita Williams, and Debra Ruth Harris.
He was the father, brother, uncle, and grandfather and great grandfather, to many he known by (JD) and will be remembered by many.
Those cherishing his memories are 2 children: daughters, Courtney Lashay Harris, and McKenzie J. Duffey; 4 grandchildren, D'Corian Lamont Hill, Vaneisha Ariah Duffey, Terrence Moore, Legacy Sha'nell Thomas; great-grand daughter: Za'riyah Jazae Hill; 6 siblings: Annie Sue Duffey, Curtis Johnson, Ethel Fay Shaw, Allan Duffey and Roy Dean Duffey and stepbrother, Demetrius Duffey.
Johnny loved spending time with his family and friends, he loved detailing cars, fishing and dancing. If u knew him u know he loved to cut a rug, cook, eating moon pies and mowing yards. When u saw him, he always had a smile no matter what.
Johnny Duffey was a veteran, he was in the army for a few years, and was employed by Star Brand Ranch for many years in Kaufman Texas, he also had his own
personal detail service in Kaufman, Texas. He later moved back to Sulphur Springs, Texas where his roots began. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends that he loved dearly.
