Kenneth Wayne Ford Sr. was born on March 17, 1949, in Calvert, Texas, to the late John Henry Sr and Maple Ford. Kenneth was a member of the New Magnolia Baptist Church in Calvert, Texas. He graduated from W.D. Spigner in 1967, then enrolled in a Vocational Program for Printing at Prairie View A&M University and graduated in 1969.
He moved to Dallas and started working for Southwestern Bell, now AT&T. Kenneth was not only a founding member of the Network of Black Telecommunicators in Dallas, Texas, but also a dedicated mentor, colleague, and friend to many. His journey with the organization began in the 1970s during his time with Southwestern Bell, and he remained committed through every transition-from SBC to AT&T-never losing sight of the importance of connection, both in his work and in his community.
Kenneth took great pride in uplifting others, especially through his involvement with the Community Network of African American Telecommunications Professionals at SBC, known today as The NETwork: Black Integrated Communications Professionals (BICP). He believed deeply in creating opportunities, building relationships, and supporting those who followed in his footsteps.
Those who knew Kenneth will remember his steady presence, his willingness to lend a helping hand, and the genuine care he showed to everyone around him. His legacy is not only in the organizations he helped build, but in the countless lives he touched along the way. He retired after 37 years of hard work and dedication.
Kenneth was deeply loved by many. His love of music, his advice, and his jokes make you laugh. Most importantly, his love of being with his family made him happiest. Anyone could call Pops, and he would give them the shirt off his back to help anyone in need.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his loving wife, Charlotte Ann Ford, and stepson Randall B. Parker.
Kenneth leaves behind to cherish his memories and love of family, Kiesha (Dante), Derrick (Tam), Keith (Shelva), Kassondra, and Kenneth II. Sisters Ruthie Wortham and Lydia Shaw (John). Brothers John Ford Jr. (Helen Jean) and Michael Ford. 12 Grandkids, 10 Great Grandkids, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
