Michael Jerome Bryant was born in Los Angeles, California on October 28, 1958 to the union of Loneal Bryant and Roberta Burrell Bryant.
Michael accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at the New Paradise Missionary Baptist Church in Littlerock, California under the leadership of the late Rev. A.C. Darby Sr. Michael was born and raised in the church where he sang in the choir and was part of the usher board.
Michael attended Manchester Baptist School in Los Angeles, Ca, Trinity Lutheran in Torrance, Ca and graduated from Locke High School in 1976 in Los Angeles, Ca. He attended night classes at Los Angeles Southwest College where he earned an associate’s degree in automotive technology/Technician in 1980.
At an early age he became interested in auto mechanics, following his father to work on the weekends to his auto repair and auto parts shop. This later became his career as his father’s businesses bloomed and he took over Loneal’s Transmission Shop. He was known as a master mechanic following in his father’s footsteps. He was truly a gifted and talented mechanic.
At the urging of his sister, Annette he moved to Texas and began working for Ingersoll Rand Compressors as a Master Mechanic Tech for many years until he decided he wanted to travel and became an Over the Road contract Driver traveling to many states and “tasting the great flavors of food” as he put it until his illness of prostate cancer in 2016. Upon his stop back in Texas, he would try his newfound and made-up recipes and share with his late cousin Craig. Michael became known as the Master Chef in his words.
He loved to cook, concoct new recipes and seasonings. His gift of laughter, making other laugh, comedic ways, jokes and pranks will truly be missed for he was the master of them all.
In the very late 70’s, early 80’s, Michael and Curtis Garrett formed several car clubs. The first in LA County, the Pinto Car Club and Z-Cars. These clubs hosted various community events at hotels with social elegance and community connections attracting many from all over the county.
