Michael Odom, Sr., age 73, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, at his Home in Grand Prairie, Texas. He was born on June 23, 1952, in Albany, Georgia. Michael lived a life marked by dedication to his work, deep love for his family, and a generous spirit that touched all who knew him.
Michael built a remarkable career as an offshore man, dedicating over 40 years to the industry. His work took him across borders to duty stations in Mexico and Saudi Arabia, where he demonstrated unwavering commitment and resilience. His decades of service stand as a testament to his strong work ethic and steadfast character.
At the heart of Michael’s life was his beloved wife of 47 years, Zenobia Watson Odom. Together they shared not only a lasting partnership but also many cherished moments among them their shared love for motorcycle rides that brought joy and adventure into their lives.
Michael was a devoted father to Apostle Michael D. Odom, Jr. (Isha), Renita A. Odom, Pastor Enrico M. Odom (Tyra), and Zenobia Watson. He also held close the memory of his daughter Michelle "Tinker" Odom, who preceded him in death. As a grandfather to ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, Michael’s legacy continues through generations who carry forward his values and love.
He is also remembered by his three brothers Vincent Odom, Stephen Odom, and Brian Odom and three aunts who were part of the extended family that shaped his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie Odom Sr. and Renita Odom, as well as one brother, Bennie Odom Jr.
Those who knew Michael will remember him as a compassionate and giving man loving and encouraging to everyone he met. His life reflected the words of Matthew 5:48: “Live out your God created identity, live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you.”
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of kindness and generosity in his honor.
