Linda Gilliard -Dunbar was born on September 13, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, to the late Rece and Geneva Gilliard. She completed her education at Madison High School in Dallas, graduating in 1983. In February 2016, Linda began a transformative journey toward a healthier lifestyle, proudly celebrating 8 years of sobriety. During this time, she also embraced her faith, accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and became a devoted member of Koinonia Missionary Baptist Church. Linda will be remembered as an extraordinary sister, a loving and devoted mother, and an outstanding grandmother. She was also affectionately known as the "snack queen" for her generous and caring spirit. Her warm presence, nurturing nature, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Linda peacefully received her wings on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, exactly one and a half years after the loss of her beloved son, Stanley, at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rece and Geneva Gilliard; her nephews, Antoine Gilliard and Derrick Rockwell; and her son, Stanley Dunbar Jr. She leaves behind a spouse Stanley Dunbar Sr; a son Deonta Sulcer (Dequatta); A daughter Geneshia Dunbar (Darron Lewis ); Sisters Dorothy Rockwell (Johnny) of Ora city, Tx; Amelia Washington; Penny Gilliard; Sharlonda Gilliard; and a brother Archie Gilliard (Laditera) all from Dallas, Tx; Grandchildren Dezmond Sulcer; Ke’Myreon Brown; S’Riyha and Ja’Niyah Issac; Jace Bell and Jade Sulcer; Skylar Smith and her unborn grandchild Daiya Lewis, and a host of special nieces, nephews, and cousins; and other relatives and friends.
