Pastor Ronald Person Obituary

Pastor Ronald Person was more than a husband, father, grandfather, pastor, and friend; he was a powerful man of God whose life reflected peace, compassion, humility, and unwavering love for people. His presence touched countless lives, and his legacy will continue to live on through the many hearts he healed, encouraged, and led closer to God.

Pastor Ronald Person faithfully served his country in the United States Army for over two years before dedicating his life fully to ministry and service to others. For 25 years, he served as Pastor of New Birth Christian Fellowship in Toledo, Ohio, where he tirelessly poured into the community whenever and wherever he could. His ministry extended far beyond the church walls. Pastor Person had a special heart for men who were struggling with addiction, brokenness, and life’s hardships. Through his men’s ministry, he ministered deliverance, hope, and restoration to recovering addicts battling drugs and alcohol. Today, many of those same men stand as living testimonies, declaring they are free because of Pastor Ronald Person’s obedience to God and his willingness to love them without judgment.

For the last four years of ministry, Pastor Ronald Person faithfully pastored alongside his beloved wife, Apostle Helen Person, as Pastor and First Lady together at New Birth Christian Fellowship, before moving to Texas and becoming members of the Potter’s House church in Dallas, Texas. Their partnership in ministry reflected dedication, unity, and a shared commitment to serving God’s people with sincerity and grace.

Pastor Ronald Person was known by many as a loving, caring husband and a man deeply loved by nearly everyone who crossed his path. He believed strongly in peace and love among people. He avoided drama, confusion, and division, choosing instead to walk in wisdom, gentleness, and understanding. No matter how others behaved, Pastor Person continued to love people wholeheartedly, unconditionally and treated them with kindness and dignity. His life was truly a reflection of God’s Agape love.

To his wife, Apostle Helen Person, he was not only a husband, but a God-sent man, a faithful companion, protector, encourager, and soulmate whose love will forever remain treasured in her heart.

Pastor Ronald Person leaves behind a beautiful legacy and cherished memories with those who loved him dearly. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 12 years, Apostle Helen Person; his four daughters, Ashantis Person, Angel Hurns, Danyle Daniels, and Zerlene Rogers; his five siblings, JoAnn Harvey, Schenelle Miller, Jesse Person, Dorcas Person, and Shiray Person; 12 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, spiritual sons, daughters, and dear friends.

Though Pastor Ronald Person has entered eternal rest, the impact of his life, ministry, and love will continue for generations to come. His faithfulness to God, his compassion for people, and his dedication to helping others find freedom will never be forgotten. Well done, good and faithful Servant.
