Paulette White was born April 24, 1948 to the parentage of Robert and Pauline White in Sulphur Springs, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Donald, Ronald, Tommy, and Robert.
Paulette accepted Christ at an early age and united with Mitchell Chapel Holiness Church and later united with Morning Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. After moving to Dallas, she attended Greater Providence Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Johnny Eades. During the pandemic, she began worshiping with Lone Star Baptist Church of Oakwood, TX, under the leadership of Pastor Larry Raven. She was very active in the Saturday Women’s Bible Group and Wednesday prayer meeting and Bible study. She realized the favor of God on her life, and she would often tell those she encountered, “You know, God is good!”
Paulette graduated from Douglas High School in 1966 and furthered her education, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, at East Texas State University in 1970. She took pride in being a lifelong learner, which led her to receive a Master’s degree in Human Resources from Amber University.
Paulette served faithfully as an educator in the Dallas Independent School District for thirty-two (32) years. During her tenure, she served as grade level chair, and she wrote grants for numerous schools and churches. She taught, fed, encouraged, nurtured, developed, and shaped young minds–helping them reach goals they never thought possible. In addition, she wrote poetry, short stories, and school plays in which she encouraged her students to perform. Paulette was a member of several professional organizations, which include Texas State Teachers’ Association, Dallas Retired Teachers’ Association, National Council of Negro Women, and Creative Women’s Group.
She loved cooking, shopping, eating good food, and entertaining family and friends. The holidays were her favorite time of the year because she looked forward to preparing big meals for everyone to enjoy.
Paulette will be missed tremendously by those left to cherish her memories: two brothers, Jimmy (Eliza) and Lynn (Katherine) White, both of Dallas, TX; one sister, Bertha Fountain of Sulphur Springs, TX; ten (10) nieces and nephews, Danny Sims, Tonya Davis, Dwight Sims, Donna Hilliard, Paula Sims, Patrick Sims, Cassandra Lindley, Kenneth Lindley, Donald Goodson, Donna Jackson, and Felicia Green; three faithful goddaughters, Rhonda (Triveno) Raven-Woodson, Rochanda (Ross) Williams, and Latoya (ReOndo) Hicks-Harring; three god-granddaughters, Ravyn and Robyn Woodson and RaVyn Harring; one god-grandson, Ravonté Woodson; 3 very close friends of over 40 years, Charles Taylor, Liz Overstreet, and Earlene Mills-House; and numerous cousins, family, and friends.
