Born on December 29, 1953, at the old home place in Birch Creek, I was welcomed into the world by my loving mother, Roberta Wright.
After graduating in 1971, I followed in the footsteps of my mother and aunt by becoming a cook. Over the next 20+ years, I dedicated myself to my work at Lonestar Cafe, Crossroads Restaurant, Red Barn Cafe, and Carriage House before retiring.
My faith was a guiding force in my life, and I was a long-time member of the MLK Church of Christ. I found joy in singing with the choir and serving on the food committee, always striving to contribute to my community.
In retirement, I embraced life’s simple pleasures—watching soap operas, solving crossword puzzles, playing cards and bingo. However, nothing brought me more joy than spending time with my family, especially during our cherished Sunday dinners.
As I leave this world, I carry a heart filled with love for the life I lived. Though I may no longer be with you in body, my spirit will always be near.
To my children, grandchildren (Markeisha, Kiara, Kedrick, Kyri, Kalyle, Elija), and great-grandchildren (Jeremiah, Benjamin, Rylee, Kyla, Cannon, Kenna and Phoenix), you are my greatest joy and blessing. Please know how much I love you and how proud I am to be your mother, granny, and Gigi.
To my family and friends, I thank you for the memories, the laughter, and the love. Those who knew me well understood that my bluntness came from a place of love and laughter.
Paulette is survived by her children: Tammie (Derick) Dial, Christy (Johnny) Wright, and Jamal Ali; her sisters Bobbie (David) Gordon and Ronnie Bell and her brother Patrick (Sissy) Hall. She was preceded in death by her mother, Roberta Wright, and her sister, Pamela Wright.
